MetaLens360Help Center

Platform admin area

Platform administrators run MetaLens360 itself. This guide covers the cross-workspace Platform Admin overview, the Help Center editor and analytics, and the Cloud & Billing and Data Model pages.

Overview

A platform administrator (sometimes called a master admin) looks after the MetaLens360 service as a whole, across every workspace. This is separate from the workspace Admin role: a workspace Admin manages one team's workspace, while a platform administrator operates the platform.

Platform administrators see an extra Platform section at the top of the sidebar with Platform Admin and Help Center, plus two pages under the normal sections: Data Model (Architecture) and Cloud & Billing (System). A Master Admin badge appears next to their name in member lists.

Before you start

  • Platform administrator access is granted by an allowlist that your MetaLens360 operator controls. It can't be assigned from Settings → Users or the roles matrix.
  • Anyone else who opens /platform sees Platform admin access required. Opening Help Center editor, Cloud & Billing or Data Model without access sends you back to Home.

What you see

Platform Admin (/platform)

Cross-workspace totals — Workspaces, Users, Connected Orgs, Comparisons, Snapshots and Indexed Components — followed by three lists:

  • Workspaces — every workspace with usage counts only (plan, users, orgs, comparisons, snapshots, created, last login).
  • Users — everyone across all workspaces, with workspace, role, status and last login. Use Search users….
  • Connected Orgs — every Salesforce org, filterable by Cloud, with type and component counts.

Help Center (/platform/help)

The editor for the articles you're reading now, with two tabs:

  • Articles — search, filter by status (draft, published, retired) and category, and see views and helpfulness per article.
  • Analytics — article views, searches, Searches with no results, helpful and not-helpful votes, suggestions, AI answers and fallbacks, and the Proactive page assistant funnel (offered, opened guide, resolved, dismissed, muted).

Cloud & Billing and Data Model

  • Cloud & Billing — hosting activity, cost signals and storage footprint for the whole platform.
  • Data Model — every table MetaLens360 keeps, what a row means and how tables relate, read live from the running system.

Steps

Write or update a help article

  1. Open Platform → Help Center and click New article, or click an existing article.
  2. Fill in Title, URL slug, Category, Order and Summary.
  3. Add Tags (comma-separated search keywords), App pages (contextual help) — routes such as /connections or /comparisons/:id where the in-app ? should show it — and Related articles (comma-separated slugs).
  4. Write the body in Markdown. Switch between Write, Side by side and Preview.
  5. Add an optional Change note for the version history.
  6. Click Save draft to keep working, or Publish to make it live on /help and in the app. (The button reads Save & publish when you have unsaved changes.) On an article that's already live, Save (stays live) saves your edits without taking it down, and View live opens the public page.
  7. To take an article down, click Unpublish (back to draft) or Retire (hidden, history kept).

Restore an earlier version

  1. Open the article and scroll to Version history. Find the version by Version, When, By, Status and Note.
  2. Click Restore. Its text becomes the current text as a new version; nothing is lost.

Load the starter articles

Click Import starter articles, then Import. It adds any bundled articles that are missing and never overwrites existing articles or your edits. Use Open public Help Center to check the result.

Example

In Analytics, Priya (a platform administrator) sees "sfdx url" under Searches with no results. She opens Connect a Salesforce org, adds sfdx url to Tags, writes the change note "Add search synonym", and clicks Save (stays live).

FAQs

Are help article edits audited?

Yes. Every save creates a new version, and creating, editing and importing articles are recorded in the audit trail.

Can a workspace Admin edit help articles?

No. Only platform administrators can.

Troubleshooting

"Platform admin access required"

Your account isn't on the platform allowlist. Ask your MetaLens360 operator if you need access.

Import reports items as invalid

A bundled article failed validation and was skipped. The others still import.
