Accept a team invitation

Join a teammate's MetaLens360 workspace from your invitation link by choosing a password. Invitations expire after 7 days and can be used once.

Overview

When a workspace Admin invites you, MetaLens360 sends you an email with a personal invitation link. (If email isn't set up on your MetaLens360 environment, the Admin may send you the link directly instead.) Opening the link takes you to Accept your invitation, where you set a password and join the workspace.

Once you join, you see the same Salesforce orgs, comparisons and analysis as the rest of your team. What you can do depends on the role the Admin chose for you — for example, a Viewer can read everything but can't run syncs. See Roles and permissions.

Before you start

  • Use the link within 7 days. Invitations expire after that.
  • Each link works once.
  • Your email address must not already have a MetaLens360 account. An account belongs to one workspace.
  • Choose a password of at least 8 characters.

Steps

  1. Open the invitation email and click the link. The page shows Accept your invitation — "Set a password to join your team's MetaLens360 workspace".
  2. Enter your First name and Last name. These are optional but help teammates recognize you.
  3. Enter a Password (min. 8 characters).
  4. Enter the same password in Confirm password.
  5. Click Join workspace.
  6. You are signed in and taken to Home for your new workspace.

Example

Priya, a release manager, invites Sam as a Developer from Settings → Users. Sam receives the email the next morning, clicks the link, enters his name and a password, and clicks Join workspace. He lands on Home and can already see acme-dev, acme-uat and acme-prod. Because Developers can run syncs and comparisons, he starts a comparison between acme-uat and acme-prod right away.

FAQs

Which role will I have?

The role the Admin chose when inviting you. The default is Developer. Ask an Admin if you need a different role; Admins can change it at any time.

I already have a MetaLens360 account. Can I accept?

Not with the same email address. An account belongs to one workspace. Ask the Admin to invite a different address, or sign in to your existing workspace.

Can I change my password later?

Yes. Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page at any time. See Sign in and reset your password.

Troubleshooting

"This invitation has expired — ask an admin to resend it"

The link is more than 7 days old. Ask a workspace Admin to click Resend next to your invitation in Settings → Users. Resending gives the invitation a fresh 7 days.

"This invitation is invalid or has already been used"

The link was already used, or the Admin revoked the invitation. If you already joined, go to the sign-in page and sign in. Otherwise ask the Admin for a new invitation.

"An account with that email already exists — try signing in instead"

Your email address already has an account. Sign in instead. If you've forgotten the password, use Forgot password?.

"Password must be at least 8 characters." or "Passwords do not match."

Choose a longer password, or retype the confirmation so both fields match.

The link is incomplete — often because an email program split it across lines. Copy the full link from the email into your browser's address bar, or ask the Admin to send it again.
