Navigating MetaLens360

A tour of the MetaLens360 sidebar sections, the header toolbar, the profile menu and the built-in help, so you can find any page in a couple of clicks.

Overview

Every MetaLens360 page shares the same frame: a sidebar on the left that lists every page, grouped by the question it answers, and a header across the top with search, quick actions and help. Learning this frame once means you can reach any page in one or two clicks.

Before you start

You only need to be signed in. Everyone sees the same sidebar sections. Platform administrators also see an extra Platform section at the top (see Platform admin area).

Sidebar controls:

  • Click a section name to collapse or expand it. MetaLens360 remembers your choice on this browser.
  • Click Collapse All (or Expand All) above the sections to fold or unfold every section at once.
  • Click the Collapse sidebar arrow to shrink the sidebar to icons. Click the logo to expand it again.
  • Your name and email sit at the bottom. Click them to open the profile menu with Support and Sign out.

The header

From left to right:

  • Page title — the page you are on.
  • Ask field — "Ask about your orgs, metadata, syncs, data or AI usage…". Type a question and press Enter to open the AI assistant with your question filled in; press Enter again to send. See Use the AI assistant.
  • Connect org — opens Connections so you can add a Salesforce org.
  • Sync & schedule center icon — opens Sync Center.
  • Settings icon — opens Settings.
  • ? (Help for this page) — opens help articles for the page you are on, a search box and an Ask button.
  • Avatar — opens the same profile menu as the sidebar (Support, Sign out).

A floating ✨ button at the bottom right (tooltip "MetaLens360 AI Assistant") opens the assistant from any page.

Steps

To find a page quickly:

  1. Think about the question you're asking (for example, "how do acme-uat and acme-prod differ?").
  2. Open the matching sidebar section (Drift Detection).
  3. Click the page (Comparisons).
  4. If you're unsure what a page does, click ? in the header.

Example

Priya, a release manager, wants to know whether last night's sync of acme-prod worked. She clicks the Sync & schedule center icon in the header, sees the org's status, then opens Manage → Org Sync & Repo Fetch Status for the history. Before a release, she checks Drift Detection → Drift Overview.

FAQs

Why don't I see Data Model or Cloud & Billing?

Those pages are for platform administrators only and are hidden from everyone else.

Can I hide sections I never use?

You can collapse any section; it stays collapsed on that browser until you expand it. Sections can't be removed.

Troubleshooting

A page shows no data

Most pages need at least one connected, synced and indexed org. See Pages show no data.

The sidebar shows only icons

It is collapsed. Click the MetaLens360 logo at the top to expand it.
