Overview

MetaLens360 AI is a chat assistant available on every page. It answers questions using what MetaLens360 already knows about your workspace, including:

  • connected orgs and repositories,
  • indexed component counts and recent syncs,
  • record volumes by object,
  • AI usage and configuration,
  • promotion pipelines and recent comparisons.

When you ask how to do something in MetaLens360, it answers from Help Center articles and lists them under Help articles below the answer. Each link opens the full article in a new tab.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open the assistant in one of two ways:
    • Click the ✨ button at the bottom right of any page (tooltip "MetaLens360 AI Assistant").
    • Type in the header field "Ask about your orgs, metadata, syncs, data or AI usage…" and press Enter. The assistant opens with your question filled in so you can edit it — press Enter again to send.
  2. Type your question, or click one of the suggestion chips. Suggestions change with the page you're on.
  3. Read the answer. The "via …" label shows which AI provider answered.
  4. Click the copy icon to copy an answer.
  5. If the answer has a "{n} sources" chip, click it to see the matched components and their drift status.
  6. Use the minimize or close buttons in the panel header when you're done.

Ask about a specific comparison

Open a comparison's detail page, then open the assistant. The header shows Analyzing this comparison, and answers focus on that comparison. Try "Summarize the drift in this comparison" or "Show me all modified Flows". When you ask for a full list of more than 30 components, the list comes straight from the database, labelled "via MetaLens360 Database (direct)", so nothing is left out.

On other pages the header shows Global context.

Example

Priya types "Which orgs are stale or never indexed?" in the header field and presses Enter twice. The assistant lists acme-uat as last synced nine days ago. She then asks "How do I schedule automatic syncs?" and gets short steps with a link to Schedule automatic syncs.

FAQs

How is this different from the Ask button in the help panel?

The Ask button in the header ? panel (Help for this page) gives a short answer from Help Center articles only. The AI assistant also uses your workspace data, so it can answer questions like "Which syncs failed recently?".

Can the assistant change anything in my orgs?

No. It only reads and explains. It can't deploy, sync or edit metadata.

Can I trust every answer?

Treat answers as a starting point. Confirm important facts on the relevant page, such as the comparison diff or Sync Center.

Troubleshooting

"Failed to reach MetaLens360 AI. Check your connection and backend logs."

The assistant couldn't get an answer. Check your network and try again. If your workspace requires own keys, open Settings → AI Providers and check the banner: AI generation is not enabled for you means you need a key of your own first — see Choose who pays for AI generation. If it persists, contact support from your profile menu → Support.

The answer says no AI providers are configured

Ask an administrator to set one up. See Fix AI provider not configured errors.

The header ask field is missing

It is hidden on narrow screens. Use the ✨ button instead.
