Use the Home command center
Home summarizes your workspace at a glance — connected orgs, indexing health, recommended next steps, items needing attention and recent comparisons and snapshots.
Overview
Home is the first page you see after signing in. It answers one question: what is the state of my Salesforce estate, and what should I do next? Everything on it is derived from live indexing state, so it updates as you sync and index orgs.
Before you start
- Anyone in the workspace can view Home.
- Most tiles need at least one connected org. With no orgs, Home shows No orgs connected yet and an Add Salesforce Org button.
What you see
Greeting and KPI cards
The page opens with *Welcome back, your name***, plus chips counting your orgs and clouds. Four KPI cards follow. Click any card to jump to the related page:
| Card | Meaning | Opens |
|---|---|---|
| Connected Orgs | Salesforce orgs connected to this workspace | Connections |
| Components Indexed | Metadata components stored across all orgs | Org. Metadata Matrix |
| Clouds | Salesforce clouds your orgs run on (Commercial, Canada, GovCloud) | Connections |
| Comparisons Run | Drift comparisons run so far | Comparisons |
Environment Health
Every connected org grouped by cloud, with a health status:
- Healthy — indexed recently and has components stored.
- Stale — last indexed more than 14 days ago, or indexed but with 0 components stored.
- Not indexed — never indexed yet.
Use Expand all / Collapse all to open or fold the groups.
Recommended Actions
Shortcuts to the most useful next steps: Explore metadata matrix, Review SOQL risk, Run a drift comparison, and an indexing card. When some orgs are stale or never indexed, the indexing card reads *Index N* orgs and opens Sync Center; otherwise it reads Index an org**.
Attention Required
A list of orgs that need action, never-indexed orgs first, with a plain reason:
- "Never indexed — run a sync to populate its metadata."
- "Indexed but 0 components stored — re-run a full sync."
- "Last indexed (time) — data may be out of date."
When nothing needs attention you see All clear — "Every connected org is indexed and current." If more than six orgs need attention, click *View all N* in Sync Center**.
Platform and Recent Activity
The Platform card summarizes total components, indexed orgs and whether the drift engine is active. Recent Activity lists your latest comparisons and Latest QA Snapshots. If you haven't run any, it shows No comparisons yet.
Steps
- Open Home from the top of the sidebar.
- Scan the Attention Required card first.
- For any stale or never-indexed org, click the indexing card in Recommended Actions to open Sync Center and sync it.
- Once everything shows Healthy, use Run a drift comparison to compare two orgs.
Example
On Monday morning, Priya sees acme-uat under Attention Required: "Last indexed 16 days ago — data may be out of date." She clicks Index 1 org, runs a sync in Sync Center, and returns to Home a few minutes later to see All clear. She then clicks Run a drift comparison to check acme-uat against acme-prod before the release.
FAQs
Why is an org Stale when nothing changed in Salesforce?
Stale is about how fresh MetaLens360's copy is, not about Salesforce. After 14 days without indexing, MetaLens360 can't be sure its copy is current. Scheduling automatic syncs keeps orgs Healthy — see Schedule automatic syncs.
Does Home refresh by itself?
It reflects the latest state whenever you open it. Revisit Home or reload the page after a sync finishes.
Troubleshooting
Home says "No orgs connected yet" but my team has orgs
You may be in a different workspace from your team. Check the workspace name at the top of the sidebar. Ask an Admin to invite you to the right workspace.
An org stays "Indexed but 0 components stored"
The last sync retrieved nothing. Run a full resync from Sync Center. If it still fails, see Troubleshoot sync failures.
